Sometimes

Sometimes
if you move carefully
through the forest

breathing
like the ones
in the old stories

who could cross
a shimmering bed of dry leaves
without a sound,

you come
to a place
whose only task

is to trouble you
with tiny
but frightening requests

conceived out of nowhere
but in this place
beginning to lead everywhere.

Requests to stop what
you are doing right now,
and

to stop what you
are becoming
while you do it,

questions
that can make
or unmake
a life,

questions
that have patiently
waited for you,

questions
that have no right
to go away.

บางที
ถ้าเธอค่อยๆ เดินไปในป่า
หายใจเหมือนกับผู้คนในเรื่องราวอันเก่าแก่
ผู้สามารถย่างเท้าผ่านผืนพรมของใบไม้
ที่สะท้อนประกายแสงได้ อย่างไร้สุ้มเสียง

เธอจะมาถึงที่แห่งหนึ่ง
ที่ที่จะคอยก่อกวนใจด้วยคำร้องขอเล็กๆ
หากน่าหวาดหวั่น

มันไม่ได้มาจากที่แห่งใด
แต่ ณ ที่แห่งนี้
จะนำพาเธอไปสู่ทุกที่

เป็นคำร้องขอให้เธอหยุดกระทำ
ในสิ่งที่เธอกำลังทำอยู่
และหยุดเป็นสิ่งที่เธอกำลังจะเป็น

เป็นคำถามที่สามารถสร้างหรือรื้อถอนชีวิต
เป็นคำถามที่รอคอยเธออย่างอดทน
เป็นคำถามที่ไม่มีสิทธิ์จากเธอไปไหน

I LOVE this piece of his work very much.  Very strikingly awakening the mysterious, curious mind in me to STOP what I am becoming and to seek the Question that can make or unmake life, that patiently waits for you, that have no right to go away, the question that belongs solely to me in the SOMETIMES!
